Abstract: The aim of this study was to evaluate the isolated effect and the combination of products in the chemical treatment on the physiological potential of soybean seeds with different vigor levels, after different storage periods. The study was divided into four experiments, with different storage periods: 0, 45, 90 and 135 days, all with a completely randomized design, with four replicates. The treatments were arranged in a 12 x 2 (A x B) factorial scheme, in which factor A consisted of the application of seed treatment and factor B consisted of initial vigor levels. The physiological potential of the seeds was determined by means of the following evaluations: first germination count, seed germination, seedling emergence in the sand substrate, accelerated aging with NaCl-saturated solution, vigor index and average seedling length (Vigor-S®). Storage of seeds under uncontrolled conditions causes greater deterioration, and this process can be intensified by previous chemical treatment of the seeds. Among the products studied, the use of drying powder alone was the treatment that caused the greatest losses in the different situations studied. To ensure the maintenance of the physiological potential of soybean seeds, treatment should be carried out as close as possible to sowing.

Resumo: O objetivo deste estudo foi avaliar o efeito isolado e a combinação de produtos no tratamento químico, sobre o potencial fisiológico de sementes de soja com diferentes níveis de vigor, em períodos de armazenamento distintos. O estudo foi dividido em quatro experimentos, com diferentes tempos de armazenamento: 0, 45, 90 e 135 dias todos com delineamento inteiramente casualizado, com quatro repetições. Os tratamentos foram dispostos em esquema fatorial 12 x 2 (A x B), em que o fator A foi composto pela aplicação do tratamento de sementes e o fator B pelos níveis de vigor inicial. O potencial fisiológico das sementes foi determinado por meio: primeira contagem de germinação, germinação, emergência de plântulas em areia, envelhecimento acelerado com solução saturada com NaCl, índice de vigor e comprimento médio de plântulas (Vigor-S®). O armazenamento de sementes em condições não controladas ocasiona maior deterioração das sementes e este processo pode ser intensificado pelo prévio tratamento químico das sementes. Dentre os produtos estudados, o uso de pó-secante de maneira isolada foi o tratamento que ocasionou maiores perdas nas diferentes situações estudadas. Para garantir a manutenção do potencial fisiológico das sementes de soja, recomenda-se que o tratamento seja realizado o mais próximo possível da semeadura.

Resumo: O objetivo deste estudo foi avaliar a eficiência do teste de envelhecimento acelerado para determinar o potencial fisiológico de sementes de soja com diferentes tratamentos químicos; verificar a influência do tratamento de sementes após o armazenamento e analisar a concordância entre os métodos de envelhecimento acelerado com os resultados reais de armazenamento das sementes. O estudo foi dividido em dois experimentos, ambos com delineamento inteiramente casualizado, com quatro repetições. No primeiro experimento os tratamentos foram dispostos em esquema fatorial 3 x 2 x 3: três tratamento de sementes (imidacloprid + thiodicarb; fipronil + thiophanate methyl + pyraclostrobin; ausência de tratamento), dois níveis de vigor (alto; baixo) e três métodos de envelhecimento acelerado (tradicional; solução saturada de NaCl; sem envelhecimento) avaliando-se a germinação. No segundo experimento, os tratamentos foram dispostos em esquema fatorial 3 x 2 x 2: três tratamentos de sementes (imidacloprid + thiodicarb; fipronil + thiophanate methyl + pyraclostrobin; ausência de tratamento), dois níveis de vigor (alto; baixo), dois tempos de armazenamento (0 e 135 dias), avaliando-se a germinação e emergência de plântulas. Os métodos de envelhecimento acelerado foram eficientes para determinar o potencial fisiológico das sementes, em que, o NaCl apresentou melhores resultados. O potencial fisiológico das sementes de soja reduziu ao longo do armazenamento e a aplicação de produtos químicos no tratamento de sementes prejudicou as porcentagens de germinação e emergência, independente do ingrediente ativo utilizado. O método de envelhecimento acelerado com NaCl apresenta maior concordância com os resultados reais de armazenamento.

Abstract: This work evaluated the efficiency of accelerated aging test to determine the physiological potential in treated soybean seeds with fungicides and insecticides, in addition to analyzing the concordance between the results obtained by different accelerated aging methods with the actual results of the physiological quality in seeds after the storage. The study was divided into two experiments, both with entirely randomized delineation, with four replications. In the first experiment, seed germination was evaluated after imposing some treatments that were arranged in a 3 x 2 x 3 factorial scheme: seed treatment (imidacloprid + thiodicarb; fipronil + thiophanate methyl + pyraclostrobin; no treatment); vigor levels (high; low); and accelerated aging (traditional; saturated NaCl solution; no aging). In the second experiment, seedling emergence was evaluated after applying some treatments that were arranged in a 3 x 2 x 2 factorial scheme: seed treatment (imidacloprid + thiodicarb; fipronil + thiophanate methyl + pyraclostrobin; no treatment); vigor levels (high; low); storage time (0 and 135 days). The accelerated aging methods were efficient to determine the physiological potential of the seeds, in which, the NaCl method presented better results. The physiological potential of soybean seeds decreased throughout storage and the application of chemicals in seed treatment impaired the germination and emergence percentages, regardless of the active ingredient used. The accelerated aging method with NaCl presents greater agreement with the actual storage results.

Resumo: Alternativas para evitar perdas e impactos desnecessários no meio ambiente são alcançadas no manejo agrícola. A preparação de sementes com nanofertilizantes antes do plantio reduz as preocupações com a dispersão não-alvo; no entanto, formulações e concentrações devem ser cuidadosamente selecionadas para evitar efeitos indesejados. Aqui, avaliou-se a germinação e o desenvolvimento de plântulas após a iniciação das sementes com CuO NPs, CuO bulk e CuCl2. As sementes foram imersas em soluções primárias de 0, 20, 40, 80 e 160 mg.L-1 para as três fontes de Cu. Após 8 horas de preparação, as sementes foram avaliadas quanto à germinação e vigor (primeira contagem de germinação). Os comprimentos de raiz e parte aérea foram medidos, bem como a biomassa seca de parte aérea e de raízes. A fonte de nanopartículas de cobre não apresenta efeitos tóxicos no crescimento do milho e promove maior biomassa quando comparada às demais fontes. Por outro lado, fontes de CuCl2 mostraram alguns impactos negativos tóxicos nas raízes e parte aérea do milho para todas as doses testadas. Esses achados apoiam o tratamento de sementes com NPs como uma alternativa à entrega de micronutrientes essenciais, como o cobre.

Abstract: Fertilizer formulation alternatives that avoid unnecessary losses and environmental impacts are being investigated in agricultural management. Seed priming with nanofertilizers prior to planting, reduces concerns about non-target dispersion; however, priming formulations and concentrations must be carefully selected to avoid undesired effects. Here, seed germination and seedling development were evaluated after seed priming with CuO nanoparticles (NPs), CuO bulk and CuCl2. The seeds were immersed in priming solutions of 0, 20, 40, 80 and 160 mg.L−1 Cu for the three Cu sources. Following 8 hours priming, the seeds were evaluated for germination and vigor (first germination count). Root and shoot lengths were measured as well as shoot and root dry biomass. The copper NP did not show any toxic effects on corn seed germination and growth, and also promoted higher biomass when compared to the other Cu sources. On the other hand, CuCl2 primed seeds exhibited Cu-toxicity in roots and shoots for all concentrations tested. Bulk Cu priming results indicated the better role of NPs size effects. These findings support NP-seed priming as an alternative to delivery of essential micronutrients, such as copper, to corn seedlings.

Resumo: Apesar do teste de envelhecimento acelerado ser um dos mais empregados na avaliação da qualidade fisiológica de sementes de soja, são escassos os trabalhos que o relacionam com outros testes fisiológicos empregados na cultura. Neste contexto, o objetivo neste trabalho foi investigar as relações do envelhecimento acelerado com os resultados de desempenho fisiológico obtido nos testes de vigor mais frequentemente utilizados no sistema de controle de qualidade de sementes de soja (germinação, primeira contagem da germinação, classificação do vigor da plântula, envelhecimento acelerado, condutividade elétrica, índice de velocidade de emergência, emergência final em substrato de areia e emergência em campo). O experimento foi conduzido com sementes apresentando distintos níveis de vigor, adotando-se o delineamento experimental inteiramente casualizado, com quatro repetições. Os dados obtidos foram submetidos à análise de correlação simples de Pearson (r) e análise de regressão linear simples a 1% e 5% de probabilidade. Os resultados demonstraram que o teste de classificação do vigor da plântula (r = 0,9160) e de emergência em campo (r = 0,9198) foram aqueles que se correlacionaram em maior grau com o envelhecimento acelerado, seguidos pela germinação (r = 0,8690), primeira contagem de germinação (r = 0,8460) e condutividade elétrica (r = 0,8912).

Abstract: Although accelerated aging is one of the tests most used for evaluation of the physiological quality of soybean seeds, there are few studies that relate it to other physiological tests used for the crop. In this context, the objective of this study was to investigate the relationship of accelerated aging to the results of physiological performance obtained in the vigor tests most frequently used in the soybean quality control system (germination, first count, seedling vigor classification, accelerated aging, electrical conductivity, emergence speed index, final emergence in sand substrate, and field emergence). The experiment was conducted with seeds that had different vigor levels, adopting a completely randomized experimental design with four replications. Pearson simple correlation analysis (r) and simple linear regression analysis at both 1% and 5% probability were conducted on the data. The results showed that the seedling vigor classification test (r = 0.9160) and the field emergence test (r = 0.9198) were those that best correlated with accelerated aging, followed by the germination (r = 0.8690), first count of germination (r = 0.8460), and electrical conductivity (r = 0.8912) tests.

Abstract The aim of this study was to evaluate the genetic diversity of the wheat germplasm using high-density genotyping with SNP markers. A set of 211 wheat varieties genotyped with 35,142 SNP markers were used in the experiment. Genetic distances ranged from 0.013 to 0.471, with the highest frequency of distances varying between 0.31 and 0.40. In the cluster analysis by the UPGMA method, 81% of the varieties were clustered in three groups. Genetic variability in the Brazilian wheat germplasm has remained constant for over 70 years. Mean genetic distances among the varieties developed in each decade ranged from 0.33 to 0.34. A trend of genetic distance between genotypes from different eras has been observed over time as a result of breeding. Results described in this study can help Brazilian wheat breeders to manage more adequately genetic variability in the Brazilian wheat germplasm.

Resumo: Objetivou-se com o presente trabalho comparar os resultados de germinação, vigor e produtividade da cultura da soja obtidos com sementes de soja de alto e baixo vigor que foram submetidas a aplicação on farm de bioestimulante e com a deste mesmo produto via tratamento industrial 60 dias antes da semeadura. O delineamento experimental adotado foi em esquema fatorial de 6 x 2 x 2 (tecnologia x nível de vigor e estratégia de aplicação de bioestimulante) para o ensaio de laboratório e de 6 x 2 (tecnologia x estratégia de aplicação de bioestimulante) para o ensaio de campo. Em laboratório foram avaliados a germinação, o envelhecimento acelerado, a emergência em areia, a biomassa seca de plântulas e condutividade elétrica; ao passo que no campo foram avaliados o estande, a massa de mil grãos e a produtividade. A aplicação de bioestimulante em sementes de soja não revestidas com defensivos agrícolas não prejudicou a qualidade fisiológica, independentemente do momento da aplicação (no dia ou 60 dias antes da semeadura). Todavia, quando aplicado em sementes recobertas com fungicidas e inseticidas, resultados superiores de germinação, vigor e produtividade foram obtidos com o uso on farm do bioestimulante.

Abstract: This study aimed to compare the results of germination, vigor, and yield of high- and low-vigor soybean seeds submitted to on-farm application of biostimulant with its application via industrial treatment 60 days before sowing. The experimental design was a factorial arrangement of 6 × 2 × 2 (technology × vigor level × strategy of biostimulant application) for the laboratory experiment and of 6 × 2 (technology × strategy of biostimulant application) for the field experiment. Germination, accelerated aging, emergence in sand, seedling dry biomass, and electrical conductivity were assessed in the laboratory, while stand, one thousand-grain weight, and yield were assessed in the field. Biostimulant application in soybean seeds not coated with pesticides did not affect the physiological quality regardless of the application moment (at the day of sowing or at 60 days before sowing). However, when applied in seeds coated with fungicides and insecticides, better results of germination, vigor, and yield were obtained with the on-farm use of biostimulant.

Resumo: O objetivo no trabalho foi avaliar o efeito do tratamento industrial sobre o potencial fisiológico de sementes de soja durante o armazenamento. Quatro misturas de defensivos agrícolas (carbendazim/thiram + imidacloprido/tiodicarbe; piraclostrobina, tiofanato metílico e fipronil; detiofanato-metílico/fluazinam + bifentrina /imidacloprido e metalaxil-m/fludioxonil + thiamethoxam) associadas a dois fertilizantes (7% N, 16% P2O5, 0,6% Co, 2,5% Mo e 1% Co, 10% Mo e 7% P2O5) foram testadas. Adotou-se o delineamento experimental inteiramente casualizado em parcelas subdivididas no tempo, com quatro repetições. Nas parcelas foram alocados os tratamentos e nas subparcelas os períodos de armazenamento (0, 30, 60, 90 e 120 dias). Em cada período foram realizados os testes de primeira contagem, germinação, envelhecimento acelerado, índice de velocidade de emergência e emergência de plântulas em substrato de areia. A germinação e o vigor das sementes de soja são reduzidos ao longo do armazenamento, sobretudo após o tratamento industrial. Caldas à base de carbendazim/thiram + imidacloprido/tiodicarbe prejudicam o potencial fisiológico das sementes ao longo do armazenamento, independentemente do emprego de fertilizantes no tratamento industrial.

Abstract: The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of industrial seed treatments on the physiological potential of soybean seeds over storage. Four mixtures of agrochemical products in association with two fertilizers were tested. The agrochemical product mixtures were carbendazim/thiram + imidacloprid/thiodicarb; pyraclostrobin, thiophanate-methyl, and fipronil; thiophanate-methyl/fluazinam + bifenthrin/imidacloprid; and metalaxyl-m/fludioxonil + thiamethoxam. The two fertilizers were 7% N, 16% P2O5, 0.6% Co, and 2.5% Mo; and 1% Co, 10% Mo, and 7% P2 O5. The experiment was carried out in a completely randomized design in a split-plot arrangement in time, with four replications. The treatments were allocated in the plots, while the storage periods (0, 30, 60, 90, and 120 days) constituted the split-plots. The following tests were carried out in each period: first count of germination, germination, accelerated aging, emergence speed index in sand substrate, and final seedling emergence in sand substrate. Seed germination and vigor declined over the storage period, especially after industrial treatment. Pesticide mixtures of a carbendazim/thiram fungicide base and an imidacloprid/thiodicarb insecticide base most impaired seed physiological potential throughout storage, regardless of fertilizer use in the industrial treatment.

Resumo: O beneficiamento de sementes tem uma importância fundamental na melhoria da qualidade de lotes de sementes de soja, podendo melhorar as caracacterísticas físicas pela eliminação de materiais inertes, sementes de plantas daninhas e sementes fora de padrão e permitindo incremento na qualidade fisiológica. Objetivou-se com este trabalho avaliar a evolução das características físicas e fisiológicas das sementes de soja ao longo da linha de beneficiamento, sendo avaliadas seis cultivares em quinze pontos de amostragem. Delineou-se em DIC, em fatorial 15 x 6 e 10 repetições. Avaliou-se germinação; vigor no envelhecimento acelerado; viabilidade pelo teste de tetrazólio (TZ classes 1 a 5); vigor (TZ classes 1 a 3); deterioração por umidade (TZ classe 3); danos mecânicos totais (TZ classes 2 a 8); danos por percevejos (TZ classes 2 a 8); e grau de umidade. Concluiu-se que o beneficiamento melhora as qualidades física e fisiológica das sementes, sendo a eficiência acentuada nas sementes de qualidade mediana. O sistema de transporte (elevadores e correias transportadoras) não promoveu danos mecânicos às sementes. As sementes maiores tendem a ser mais afetadas pelos danos mecânicos, e menores apresentam mais danos por percevejos. As sementes deterioradas por umidade não são eliminadas em nenhuma etapa do beneficiamento.

Abstract: Seed processing or conditioning is important for improving soybean seed lot quality as it improves the physical characteristics by eliminating inert materials, weed and non-standard seeds and increases physiological quality. The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of processing on physical and physiological qualities of soybean seed, before and after each equipment and transport system, during processing in a Seed Processing Plant. Samples of six cultivars were obtained during processing while seeds passed through each machine, totaling fifteen sampling sites. The experimental design was entirely randomized, treatments arranged in 15 x 6 factorial scheme, with 10 replications. Characteristics evaluated were germination; vigor by accelerated aging test; tetrazolium test for viability (TZ 1 to 5), vigor (TZ 1 to 3), weathering damage (TZ 3), mechanical damages (TZ 2 to 8), stinkbug damages (TZ 2 to 8) and moisture content. Results showed that processing improves the physiological and physical qualities of soybean seeds and enhances average quality seeds. The equipment and the system of transport (lifts and conveyor belts) used in this study did not cause mechanical damages to the seeds; the mechanical damages were mostly detected in larger seeds and stinkbug damages were found in smaller seeds; and seeds with weathering damage were neither eliminated nor reduced by any processing line.

Resumo: O objetivo do trabalho foi avaliar a germinação e vigor das sementes de milho submetidas a diferentes produtos e períodos de armazenamento. O delineamento experimental foi inteiramente casualizado em esquema de parcelas subdivididas no tempo. Na parcela foram distribuídos nove tratamentos: uma testemunha não tratada, um tratamento denominado de “tratamento padrão”, com adição de fungicida (fludioxonil + metalaxyl-M) e inseticida (thiamethoxam). A partir do tratamento padrão, seis tratamentos com combinações de inoculante (Azospirillum brasilense), micronutrientes (nitrogen + potassium + zinc + boron + copper + iron + manganese + molibdenium) e biorregulador. Por fim, um tratamento denominado de “tratamento completo”, incluindo todos os produtos. Na subparcela, os períodos de armazenamento 0, 15, 30, 45, 60 e 90 dias foram avaliados. O vigor das sementes de milho foi reduzido pelos tratamentos de sementes e pelo armazenamento. A adição de micronutrientes resultou em maior fitotoxicidade em comparação à adição de outros produtos, independente do período de armazenamento. O uso de fungicida, inseticida e inoculante se mostram viáveis, como os mais promissores tratamentos de sementes. Nenhum dos tratamentos estudados afetaram a germinação até 45 dias de armazenamento, porém o tratamento completo, com 3200 mL. 100 kg-1 reduziu o vigor de sementes.

Abstract: The aim of the study was to evaluate seed germination and vigor of maize subjected to different products and storage periods. The experimental design was completely randomized in a split plot on time. In the plots were distributed nine treatments: an untreated control, one treatment called “standard treatment”, with addition of fungicide (fludioxonil + metalaxyl-M) and insecticide (thiamethoxam). From the standard treatment, six treatments with combinations of inoculant (Azospirillum brasilense), micronutrients (nitrogen + potassium + zinc + boron + copper + iron + manganese + molibdenium) and bioregulator. Lastly, a treatment called “complete treatment” including all products. In subplots the storage periods of zero, 15, 30, 45, 60 and 90 days were evaluated. Seed vigour of maize was reduced by seed treatments and storage. Micronutrients addition resulted in higher fitotoxicity in comparison to the addition of other products, regardless of storage period. The treatment with the combination of fungicide, insecticide and inoculant proved to be feasible, and was the most promising seed treatments. None of the studied treatments affected the germination in up to 45 days of storage, however the complete treatment with 3200 mL .100 kg-1 reduced seed vigour.

RESUMO. O presente estudo objetivou piramidar genes de resistência à FAS por meio da seleção assistida por marcadores (SAM) microsatélites (SSR), demonstrando os passos para a piramidação. Para obter a primeira geração de piramidação de genes, realizaram-se cruzamentos entre as plantas introduzidas (PI’s), que possuem os genes Rpp1, Rpp2, Rpp3, Rpp4 e Rpp5. As plantas F1 dos cruzamentos iniciais foram cruzadas para obter plantas com os quatro genes de resistência (segunda geração de piramidação). As plantas selecionadas desta segunda geração foram novamente cruzadas (terceira geração de piramidação) para aumentar o número de genes piramidados. Para a SAM, foram utilizados marcadores SSR informativos em cada cruzamento. Marcadores SSR foram considerados informativos quando o alelo de resistência da fonte contendo o gene alvo poderia ser seguido na progênie, mesmo em cruzamentos entre híbridos, ambos contendo o mesmo alelo. Foram utilizados marcadores publicados em estudos de mapeamento genético para a FAS e o mapa consenso da soja. Foram obtidas plantas contendo genes piramidados, de 2 a 4 genes por planta. Essas plantas podem ser usadas como fonte de resistência múltipla em programas de melhoramento para obter variedades de soja com resistência mais durável à FAS.

ABSTRACT. The present study aimed at pyramiding ASR-resistance genes through microsatellite (SSR) marker-assisted selection (MAS) and demonstrating the pyramiding steps. To obtain the first generation of gene pyramiding, crosses were made between introduced plants (PI’s), which have the genes Rpp1, Rpp2, Rpp3, Rpp4, and Rpp5. F1 plants from the initial crosses were intercrossed to obtain plants with the four resistance genes (second pyramiding generation). Plants selected from this second generation were again intercrossed (third pyramiding generation) to increase the number of pyramided genes. For MAS, we used informative SSR markers in each cross. SSR markers were considered informative when the source resistance allele containing the target gene could be followed in the progeny, even in crosses between hybrids that both contained the same allele. Markers published in the ASR genetic mapping studies and in the consensus map of the soybean were used. We obtained plants containing from 2 to 4 genes pyramided per plant. These plants can be used as a source of multiple resistance in breeding programmes for obtaining soybean varieties with more durable resistance to ASR.

RESUMO. O fator mais importante para que os agricultores possam cultivar Stevia rebaudiana is a produção qualitativa de mudas. Assim, o objetivo destes experimentos foi o de avaliar a influência do “priming” na uniformidade das ocorrências germinativas. Primeiro, nós avaliamos a porcentagem de plântulas normais de duas amostras colhidas nos anos 2011 e 2012. As sementes colhidas no ano de 2012 desenvolveram 71,4% de plântulas normais, e por isso foram usadas nos demais experimentos. Depois, as sementes foram estressadas osmoticamente usando cinco concentrações de polietileno glicol (PEG-6000) -0,2; -0,4; -0,6; -0,8 e -1,0 MPa, juntamente com um controle com água destilada. Com base nestes resultados, apenas as concentrações à -0,8 e -1,0 MPa foram avaliadas no terceiro experimento. Assim, as sementes foram imersas para a embebição à 20ºC por quatro, cinco, seis e sete dias. Em seguida, nós avaliamos to tempo para a primeira ocorrência germinativa (Ti), o tempo para a última (Tf), a porcentagem inicial de plântulas normais (Pi) e a porcentagem final de cada tratamento (Pf). O priming aumentou a porcentagem de plântulas normais e reduziu o tempo para a primeira e última ocorrência germinativa.

ABSTRACT. The foremost factor necessary for plant growers cultivating large acreages of Stevia rebaudiana (Bert) Bertoni is the production of qualitative bedding plants. The objective of this study was to evaluate the influence of osmotic-priming on the uniformity of seed germination. First, we evaluated the percentage of normal seedlings from two seed samples harvested in 2011 and 2012. The seeds harvested in 2012 produced 71.4% normal seedlings and thus they were used in the next experiments. The seeds were subjected to osmotic stress using five concentrations of polyethylene glycol (PEG-6000) at -0.2, -0.4, -0.6, -0.8, and -1.0 MPa in contrast with distilled water. Based on these first results, only -0.8 and -1.0 MPa were evaluated in the third experiment. The seeds were immersed in both concentrations of polyethylene glycol (PEG-6000) for imbibing at 20ºC for four, five, six, and seven days. Thereafter, we evaluated the time to the first normal seedling (Ti), time to the last normal seedling (Tf), percentage normal seedlings at the initial time (Pi) and percentage of normal seedlings at the end of every treatment (Pf). Osmotic priming increased the percentage of normal seedlings of the Stevia rebaudiana and reduced the time to the first and last germination events.

RESUMO A canola é uma cultura importante no mercado mundial, principalmente por seu óleo ser utilizado para consumo humano e produção de biodiesel, sendo excelente opção econômica para o agricultor, o que impulsiona o aumento de seu cultivo no Brasil. O presente trabalho objetivou avaliar a adaptabilidade e a estabilidade de híbridos de canola, em função das épocas de semeadura. Os híbridos de canola (Hyola 61, Hyola 76, Hyola 411 e Hyola 433) foram avaliados em 3 épocas de semeadura (10/04, 25/04 e 10/05) nos anos agrícolas de 2013 e 2014, sob o delineamento em blocos ao acaso com 5 repetições. As variáveis respostas analisadas foram o rendimento de sementes e o teor de óleo. A adaptabilidade e estabilidade dos híbridos foram avaliadas por três metodologias: método da ecovalência (WRICKE, 1962); índice de confiança (ANNICCHIARICO, 1992) e método do desvio do máximo ideal (LIN; BINNS, 1988). A metodologia proposta por Wricke (1962) destacou como estáveis o híbrido Hyola 61 quanto ao rendimento de sementes e Hyola 411 para o teor de óleo. Na metodologia proposta por Lin e Binns (1988) e Annicchiarico (1992), os híbridos com maior adaptabilidade geral e estabilidade foram Hyola 411 e 433. Esses híbridos apresentaram as maiores médias para o rendimento de sementes e teor de óleo, com comportamento previsível e responsivo às variações das épocas de semeadura testadas para a região de Maringá-PR.

ABSTRACT Canola is an important crop in the world market, mainly for its oil being used for human consumption and biodiesel production, being a great economical option for the farmer, which are the reasons to the increase in its cultivation in Brazil. This study aimed to evaluate the adaptability and stability of canola hybrids, depending on the sowing dates. The canola hybrids (Hyola 61, Hyola 76, Hyola 411 and Hyola 433) were evaluated in three sowing dates (04/10, 04/25 and 05/10) in the agricultural years of 2013 and 2014, under a randomized complete block design with five replications. The response variables analyzed were seed yield and oil content. Adaptability and stability of the hybrids were evaluated by three methods: Wricke's ecovalence (1962); confidence index (ANNICCHIARICO, 1992) and method of maximum ideal deviation (LIN; BINNS, 1988). The methodology proposed by Wricke (1962) highlighted as stable the hybrids Hyola 61 for seed yield and Hyola 411 for oil content. In the methodology proposed by Lin and Binns (1988) and Annicchiarico (1992), the hybrids with higher general adaptability and stability were Hyola 411 and 433. These hybrids presented the highest means for seed yield and oil content with predictable and responsive behavior to changes in sowing dates tested in the region of Maringá-PR.
